Recently, we shared our first place winner's recipe from our Top your Hot Dog Contest we sponsored (along with Roxy Dawgs!) at the 2016 Oregon State Fair. Today, we have our second place winner - Peggy Pearson- and third place winner - Justin Bolen- topping recipes to share with you.
Fun fact: Peggy's son actually created the recipe for the "Z Sauce" below. Since the contest called for 18+ years of age, he couldn't directly enter, but his mom showcased the hot dog well and Curtis (the judge!) loved it. "Z" was so proud of his creation, and we're so excited to watch his culinary talents soar. Nice job, Z!
1/2 cup diced peaches
1/2 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 small yellow onion, sliced
2 Tbsp. Saucy Mama Chipotle Mustard
1 Tbsp. Saucy Mama Smoky Garlic Mustard
1 Tbsp. Saucy Mama Apricot Ginger Mustard
1 tsp. chili powder
1 T butter
Saute onions in butter.
Combine tomatoes and peached in food processor or blender until smooth. Add onions to mixture and stir.
Combine mustards and chili powder in separate bowl. Add onion/tomato/peach mixture to mustard mis and stir to combine well. Top your dog!
Spread mustard on one side of bun and jerk sauce on the other.
Combine coleslaw mix with blue cheese dressing (quantity is up to you, depending on how moist you like your slaw!). Top your dog with slaw and enjoy.
